We all have those times when it seems like every area of your life is in absolute chaos. Admit it, you have all been there at one time or another. It seems like everything that can go wrong is going wrong and your faith in God is being tested? How well do you handle being out of control of these circumstances? I can tell you that there were times I did well and other times that I failed miserably!! What is the secret to handling those times well all the time? That is the question here.. What do I do when all hell is breaking loose?

I have been reading a good bit lately about a man named Job. If you have read about Job, what are your first thoughts when you think of Job? Oh, the guy with the boils! Man, he lost everything what a poor guy. Was faithful to God and lost it all, how did that work out for him?

Job was tested by Satan in every possible area of his life. He was a man like you and me. Job was strong in faith and dedicated to God. Clearly Satan thought that the only reason that he was as dedicated as he was, was because everything was going great. Had a great family. He was the wealthiest man in the east! It is easy to have faith and trust God when everything is going great, right?

Well Job clearly got his metal tested. He would soon find out how strong his faith in God really was. He lost his family and all his wealth all in one day. Talk about being thrown into the fire!! Let’s look at his reaction to all that:

Job 1:20:  At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship..

Job knew in his heart where his help came from, but in his head, he was not so sure. This is evident by the fact that he goes on to say, “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away.” The Bible clearly tells us in James 1:17 that every good and perfect thing comes from The Father! God does not take good things from us. If you are struggling with trusting God because of situations in your life read James 1 over and over. This will not be an easy thing to do, but we must understand that the negative things that happen have nothing to do with God. God wants to give us the desires of our heart.

So Job went through losing his family, his livestock which was his wealth and the servants that worked for him. That clearly was not enough for him to turn from God. Job 2:3 God says “..And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited him against Me.” Satan then attacked Job’s body and struck him with boils.  He took a broken clay pot and began scratching himself to get some kind of relief! Job even withstood his wife nagging and nagging him. She says, Job, Are you still maintaining your integrity? Why don’t you just curse God and die!! Job told her that she was talking foolish.

So how strong is our integrity? How strong would we be going through a situation like that? We lose our job, the kids get sick, our finances get turned upside down and we are beside ourselves with anger, fear and doubt that God can handle this. We begin to think about how we are going to provide for all of this. How am I going to get this fixed? Where am I going to get that kind of money? Money doesn’t grow on trees you know!

What happened to our trust in God? What happened to falling on our knees in prayer. Prayer was intended to be our place of strength. We need to know that this is where we fight for our families, for our finances, our health. This is where we pull out the two-edged sword of the Word of God and part the devil’s hair with it! Come on men, lets start to fight the way God intended us to! Join hands with your wife and pray together. If you are not married, text or call a friend and ask them to stand with you for a miracle. Speak the Word of God and trust that God will come through for you. It is not time to fight and argue about something that is completely out of both of your control. If the devil can divide a marriage, he can conquer a family, then a community, then the world.. See what is happening here?

Job had the right idea. When all hell is breaking loose, fall on your knees and begin to fight the fight of faith.
